Determining Average Sales

Step 1—Determine Revenue

Here’s one fairly simple way to determine your monthly charges.

Hypothetical: Let’s say you will be open 35 hours a week and you feel you can see 8 patients an hour. That is 280 patients a week. At an average of approximately $40 for each patient (this is an example number), you could estimate $11,200 per week.

Reality: Of course, you will probably not see 8 patients every hour you are open, so you will need to use a lower figure. If you see 4 patients an hour, you will have $5,600 a week in sales. The $40 average per-patient fee also does not take into account new patients, which would be higher. Therefore, somewhere between $5,600 and $9,000 would be a realistic sales figure in this scenario.
