From digital ads to videos and social media posts, many marketing opportunities for your practice lean more to the technological side. But the business card is a tried-and-true print method that will benefit you time and again, whether you’re at a national conference, networking locally, or giving one to a patient to give as a referral. Here are a few tips to make sure your business cards represent you and your practice in the best way.

Do:

Keep it simple. If you’re designing your own, less is usually more. A few tips:

  • Stick to a limited color palette. Too many colors can look garish or unprofessional.
  • Don’t go smaller than 7-point-type.
  • Keep fonts classic and professional (no Comic Sans, please) and avoid mixing more than two.
  • Don’t use dark type on a dark background or light type on a light background.
  • Consider using an online printer such as Vistaprint or Moo.
  • Don’t cram in too much information. A popular and streamlined layout is to put your name, practice name and contact info on the front with a solid color, logo or appointment card on the back.
