With over 3.4 billion people using a social media platform in the world, social media is no longer an option for businesses, but an expectation. To ensure you are meeting this expectation, social media should be a consideration of your marketing plan.
There are many platforms to choose from when you begin thinking about your practice’s social media presence. However, just because there are dozens of sites doesn’t mean you should set up an account on all of them. For social media accounts, your followers are going to be looking for quality over quantity.
When you start, select 1 to 3 sites that make sense for your practice. This will allow you the time to focus on creating your audience and building a strong presence. While it may be tempting to pick the latest and most popular social media site, you need to make your selection based on the target audience of your practice. For example, it wouldn’t make sense for you to put a lot of effort into Snapchat or TikTok if you have built your practice in an area with a large retiree population.
